The first week of 3D Animation, the students embarked on the journey to start the whole 3D Animation process. This process involved creating a gmail account which will allow them to download the Autodesk Maya. Autodesk Maya 2018 student version to be exact.This software is what the students will be using to create 3D Animation. Furthermore Maya is the software that’s being taught in the graduate schools and used in the industry.
This software is being taught to the 7th and 8th graders at the Linden SDA school. During the first week of animation the students were also given a preview as to what 3D Animation is, just to make sure that they grasp the concept as well as to show them what their facilitator/me is capable of doing.I showed them what I have done in my thesis at the graduate school. I also showed them my most popular 2D Animation that can be found on youtube so that they could compare and contrast.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
