I’ve just finished editing the 6th grade’s interview with Mrs. Leonce, mother of STEAM student Zipporah, member of the Linden PTA, and leader of the Pathfinders. This is the second part of our interview series with extraordinary members of our school’s community. The last interview I uploaded was of our talk with Mrs. Semple. In this panel discussion she mentions the need for our community to have a voice that others will hear, the activities of the pathfinders, and her efforts to build young black men and women into productive, engaged members of their communities. When we get back from the break, we will use the skills and knowledge we’ve developed from this first semester to continue making awesome projects!
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
