The past week the students worked on creating their email accounts with the email giant GMAIL. They experienced the process that they will have to take sometime in the future when call upon to create an email for personal reasons or if it’s demanded of them.
The reason why an email account is so important for us it’s because we use it to access many other accounts including social media, that’s so hard to live without these days. DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
