Last week we wrapped on filming panel discussions with a few extraordinary members of our school’s community. On Thursday Mrs./Dr. Semple, professor at York College and mother of STEAM students Darin and Ajani, came in to the 8th grade class to talk to us a bit about herself and her community. Three cameras, operated entirely by students, were used to record the talk. Towards the second half of the talk, she tells us about how her community has changed while she’s resided in South Queens and the aspects of it that she wishes would change. In the coming days I’ll refine the editing and edit the 6th and 7th grade interviews. Here is a rough edit of our discussion.
