Observing our water filters
Enhanced Thoughts (Saleemah Madyun) join forces with Divas for Social Justice to teach the youth in Bedford Stuyvesant issues surrounding access to clean water. Thus far students have learned about Flint, MI water crisis, the periodic table, the dangers of lead, and how to build their own water filtration system. In the upcoming weeks, students will research the access of clean water in the local school system, interview local water officials, engineer an advanced filter system and more.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
