The 7th graders’ locker project is officially over. In addition to scaling, creating and designing their own lockers and floor plans for the gym renovation project, the seventh graders have taken on another task this week.
After measuring and scaling the locker rooms of the gym the seventh graders, with the aid of yours truly, began to map out all the places on a paper to be transferred to the “first draft” of their floor plan. Things are picking up speed.
The 1 1/2 inch lockers have officially been printed, in a white filament that can be colored/pigmented by the seventh-graders in brown or kept white, depending on the seventh-graders.
The seventh graders continue to work long and hard for something that they really want to see happen.

DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
