Continuation of Laurelton Community Quilt

The Arts and Crafts students have been working on finalizing the Laurelton Community Quilt. They have progressed so much with their hand sewing, tracing, cutting and decorating techniques. At this point the students have chosen two job symbols that they feel represent the Laurelton community. All students have traced, colored and decorated each symbol to their liking using the arts and crafts materials provided. The symbols have been outlined and traced with a pencil on the 10×10 inch piece of interfacing or lining fabric. The students should be finalizing their first symbol by putting the symbol on the felt fabric and cutting around it. Students will begin to transfer their first completed job symbol to the quilt. They will begin applying and rearranging each symbol to the community quilt to see where it would look best. They will continue to review the different application techniques for the assembly of the community quilt.

The students are very eager to complete this project and are excited about their contribution towards the completion of the Laurelton Community Quilt.
