This week in art class students learned about abstract art. They discussed what abstract art can be and how it allows for a means of free self expression. After the brief discussion each student made an abstract portrait of a person.
The goal is to foster creativity and open mindedness about art and it’s many facets. As a group all the students did a beautiful job at painting.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
