On Wednesday, November 11th, 2015, 34 of STEAM’s participants from the Linden SDA School boarded a yellow school bus at 8:15 in the morning. There was a lot of excited tension in the air. Everybody was excited–some still a little drowsy, but nonetheless excited–to be taking the one and a half hour bus ride to Upper East Side Manhattan, where the Sony Technology Wonder Lab is located.IMG_0468 (1) IMG_0449

After arriving, we stood in awe in front of the massive building, peering inside at the museum. The first thing we did was go up into the elevator and go into a dimly lit room where a few machines stood. Each machine took our pictures and prompted us to make profiles and were given I.D. cards that we used to scan at each game or station.

We then moved on to several stations, where there were all sorts of fun games to play. There was an exhibit with mini bumper cars, a display with holograms, and even a mini movie theater where we watched a short film called Iditarod. In addition, there were television sets at the end of the museum where we had free time to play games on the brand new PS4, like 2K16, Lego Marvel, Lego the Hobbit, MLB, and Little Big Planet.

After all the fun, we headed to the Starbucks cafe located in the museum where some students enjoyed hot coffee. We ate lunch and headed back to the school–it truly was a fun-filled day.
