Understanding The Pre-Civil Rights Era

Earlier in the week the youth had learned about how during the 1870’s the African American community in Louisville, Kentucky was able to fight segregation prior to the civil rights movement. They where able to to keep the street cars desegregated during the Jim Crow era . Not too long after the emancipation proclamation was declared.
