The students started designing their websites. They are using the website builder known as Wix and with this, it will simplify the process of creating a website. Wix is great for all ages from the eldest to the youngest, this is why it’s a great website builder for them to use.
At first I thought about choosing the template for the students to use but during class I saw how excited they were so I allowed them to choose the template that the class would be using. The students decided on the game designer template so we moved forward with this template and first having them change the template name to their first name.
DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice aims to bridge the digital divide by combining media literacy and cultural awareness along with a vast understanding of technology to encourage young women in under served communities to pursue careers in computer science and new media.
